Mood: Tired
Listening To: Daft Punk - Aerodynamite

Usually, when it comes to stuff I've never listen to, I'd usually say:

"I'm not a fan of ______________"

Which is the wrong term, after being in touch with music for quite a while.  Now that I've had a slight taste of how the music industry is like, it's more to like: "I've never heard of _____"

That's a proper term.  And I find myself wanting to look for more materials, musicians, genres, and melodies to experiement with these days.  Besides that, there's the study of polyrhythms that I've never had the chance to go through.  In fact, I'm getting a taste of polyrhythms through this song by Daft Punk.

And yes, Daft Punk.  I've never really listened to them before, but it's through these experimental artists that you learn how to mess around with new effects to make a song sound different compared to the rest which are being produced.

Other than that, I don't know.

Where exactly am I heading with this music path?

Guess I should just kick back and focus on the guitar and toss whatever's irrelevant aside.

But a mix of everything is just so..tempting.. Hohoho.

Anyways, Harry Gregson-Williams stuff on the Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty OST is extremely good in terms of production.  I seriously dig his stuff.  And some of the songs, for a tactical game, have very very heavy Jazz influence.  In fact, the opening theme - Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday (I think) is a Jazz number.  Fortune's theme song is a mix of electronical experimental orchestra with Jazz, and that's just so.. bloody nice.

Pure ear orgasmismnessed.

I don't know how to explain this, but on that OST, when the bass of a certain instrument comes in, it just hovers around the speakers .. Like an audible mist that surrounds you?  I want that effect, but I have no idea how to achieve that sort of thing with a crap Vista OS.

I shall retreat to Keith @ The Ark Studios for reference.. XD

And this feeling; being one with those sort of music .. is just simply amazing.  It's like, I've been emotionally directly linked to these sort of music?  When I listen to something that's produced, mixed and composed properly through these headphones, it brings a smile to my face somehow.

I think I've accidentally made it into my religion.

.. Time to upgrade to better headphones, that's for sure.. XD

I should head to the library now and study Management Accounting.  I just realised that I know nothing of the subject.  It's not even bloody accounts, that's for sure =___=

Listening To: Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons.

It's interesting to go through certain stages of life.  Currently, I think I'm at a point where I'm enjoying life in a very sadistic way?

My partners at Starbucks can't seem to understand my enthusiasm towards work, and whatever I do.

Sometimes I wonder how is it possible, myself?

There's The Secret, but then again, it's all about the mind.

Currently, I'm working during closing hours in Starbucks, and it's no joke to try and juggle my schedule.  I don't even see the faces of my housemates/ex-gf anymore when I go home.  Since my laptop's at the HP Service Centre because I either blew the RAM or motherboard's BIOS, I only relax at home with my iPod and what's left of it.

And imagine, having speakers with a subwoofer, but an 320 x 480 resolution based screen just to watch Top Gear.

Very simple, and homely.  I'll post a picture to that when I get the laptop back.  Should be getting a call either today or tomorrow.

Although the loss of my laptop for a total of 5 days sounds kind of .. sad, but I'm extremely contented with what I have at the moment.  The people that surrounds me, the people I'm working with, and .. stuff, I guess?

Currently, I'm checking out my latest project that I've been asked to session, once again.  It's Iz's song - Bersama/Together.  Since the beat's being laid out, my job is to only stuff in the usual guitar nonsense.  And what I have as a draft, sounds a little bit different.

Although the beginning does sound like John Petrucci's solo in Another Day, it somewhat surprises and disappoints me.

But since the ending sounds good enough to overcome that minor problem, I don't mind at all.

And you heard?  DJ Tiesto's coming down to Port Dickson.  I never said that I wasn't a fan of Trance/House/clubbing nonsense before, meaning to say that I have nothing against them.  Therefore, since the event's in Port Dickson @ Admiral Marina Club, guess who got free tickets?  XD ..

As many tickets as I want, and either on single or both nights.  HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO.  XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

But, if I really think about what I'm doing, I don't feel sad.  I feel rather contented.  I don't know why I feel this way, but .. it's not like me to feel this way.  But this whole feeling and perception of life is simply..amazing?  I'm getting paid for work, I'm catching up with studies naturally even when I don't pay attention, and the exposure to this side of the music industry is a great start.

Especially when you're finally getting paid for music, it's an achievement - but it won't last for long, I know.

Plans for Starbucks:
- Work long term even as a part timer till I move to Melbourne.  Try to apply for Coffee Master status (unsure about District Coffee Master title) .. Get to Melbourne, settle down there for a few months till I'm legal to work as a part timer there.  I heard in Melbourne/Starbucks Coffee International (not Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Sdn Bhd, duh), you can apply as a part-time supervisor from my other senior partners in Australia if you worked in Malaysia or something?  Or maybe it's a Starbucks International rule thing that never seem to existed because of Dato Vincent Goh ...

Well, being single is fun - if you don't think about needing the significant other.  I'm not saying that I'm stubborn.  I love to share benefits or whatever it is among friends, it's just that.. I have to admit that I do not have the time to care and love for someone .. special?

Besides, I'm out of strength to go on in any relationships.  I'm worn out.  Lol.

Oh.  Good news.  I managed to get back on the guitars again.  :)

PS.  For those who are working in the F&B line .. Grease traps are probably .. I don't know.  A blessing in disguise to piss off your manager if he's close by.. XD

Listening To: Dream Theater - Strange Deja Vu

Deja Vu indeed.

She asked for a break when I was working.

.. But now, it's the only time we're able to talk.. So it's good for the both of us.  She said she might regret letting me go.

... But I have a life.  Either you get on, or off.  :)

Besides, now that I have a part time job, I'll be less free.. In fact, I don't even have time for myself.  It would be unfair to her when I can't be there and all.  It would be unfair to me if whatever she does would hurt me silently.

It's unfair for us to be together.  But this break shall judge our fate of being together.

God.  Class tomorrow.  What a time to try an odd drink in Starbucks.. -_-... Now I know why people don't drink Espressos at night.. don't mind me,i'm no coffee nut -_-

Song of the moment:

She never really had a chance
On that fateful moonlit night
Sacrificed without a fight
A victim of her circumstance

Now that I've become aware
And I've exposed this tragedy
A sadness grows inside of me
It all seems so unfair

I'm learning all about my life
By looking through her eyes

Just beyond the churchyard gates
Where the grass is overgrown
I saw the writing on her stone
I felt like I would suffocate

Inloving memory of our child
So innocent, eyes open wide
I felt so empty as I cried
Like part of me had died

I'm learning all about my life
By looking through her eyes

And as her image
Wandered through my head
I wept just like a baby
As I lay awake in bed

And I know what it's like
To lose someone you love
And this felt just the same

She wasn't given any choice
Desperation stole her voice
I've been given so much more in life
I've got a son, I've got a wife

I had to suffer one last time
To grieve for her and say goodbye
Relive the anguish of my past
To find out who I was at last

The door has opened wide
I'm turning with the tide
Looking through her eyes

I just found out what happened with the connection.  The modem, everything is fine.  Just that SOMEONE under this roof, didn't set his eMule to proper download/upload settings, and that killed the modem, most of the time.

Now that SOMEONE ELSE (heh heh) reduced his downloads by 95% of the original downloads, my web surfing and downloads seem to be mysteriously stable :D

After all, the previous setting was that the download/upload speed was unlimited.. Crazy.  That's what happens if you stay with people who doesn't know squat about computers.. -_-

And and and..XD .. I'm waiting for this to finish downloading.. XDXDXDXDXD

I really hope to get this job, and nail the 2 interviews and the 3-day training session at Starbucks.

But besides that, being in KL, and learning from my housemate that he got cheated by RM1100++ by servicing his Hyundai Matrix, I thought it would be time for me to really take something up..seriously.

Thanks to an education fair which opened my eyes to.. Automotive Mechanics..

This was a birthday gift from my dad to me about 2 years ago.. Besides, I'm usually driving an odd Kembara.. Automatic gearbox, and somehow, the engine LOVES to stall at times.  So just in case if there was anything to happen and if I was stranded alone, I guess through this book, I should be able to learn a thing or two..

I HOPE.. Besides, it's always good to learn things, right?  XD.. Or else I'd be lost when Clarkson says something like.. "The Intake Manifold has been clogged up with our farm fresh diesel that has too much methanol in it.."..so on and so forth ..

Didn't know there was chemistry in this book too.. XD

Wheee.. I'm feeling good, somehow :)

Finally managed to explore Reason 4.0 a little bit more.  Sooner or later, I shall write a very boring journal to most of you regarding the new toys and features.  Right now, I'm working on the usual personal project.  But not mixing whatever Reason 4 provides.

.. EXCEPT for the glorious time signature changing thingamawig.. XD

A sudden pause and a 2/4 timing based drums is kind of.. fun.... And it brings power to a song too :D

But let's put that aside for the moment.  Enough of music for the moment.  I had the mood to continue because it was..manipulated by my emotions.

Besides, it was only some idiot who used to work in Ikano's Starbucks who misplaced my application form and that's why I never got my phone call..

..Until today.. :D

I went back there, managed to meet the manager, passed him ANOTHER form and I've got an interview tomorrow at 7.30pm .. XD

No need to wait for 3 days or whatever nonsense.. XD

Besides that, I was caught in a light rain..and the next thing you know, all of us who takes bus were taking shelter under some TNB mini powerhouse.. Goddamn the rain.. What another day to get my AF1s for a bloody wash -_-

But put that all aside, Reason 4.0 has been out for a few months now, and I finally spent some time on propellerhead.se .. And oh my word, they just can't get any better!

So many new things to offer, and it'll take up MORE space on the HDD.

But once I do that.. I'll have problems getting it around to friends and all I guess... 'Cause of the file incompatibility issue?  It's obvious that the older versions of Reason can not open the newer versions.. So..

I just came back from GSC not long ago.  Watched Step Up 2: The Streets, since I liked the first one quite.. a bit.

Not as cheesy as that crap Stomp The Yard, but whatever.  Who am I to judge?  :)

Anyways, as we were walking past some posters..I saw this!!!

Zomgz, it is REDLINE!  Which I already watched last TWO semesters ago.  Wow.  Way to go, Malaysia.  I'm sure you DAP/Barisan National dudes are behind the delay of that movie.

Also, which reminds me:  KOH YUNG SHEN!  My DVD's still with you, right?  T_T

But besides that.. What's this..?

Sorry for the small image, but that was what I could really find through google.  Not really well..advertised *hides laughter*.

UH.  Well, surprising or not surprising, I shall be a Mat Rempit/Motor/Cemerlang or Gangsta Melayu by watching that movie.  I hope I can download it.. or watch it in the afternoons with a student price.. XD

Now, when is Sekolah Tentang Batu or some Malaysian Rock-based movie?  If Ocean of Fire is the main band in it, THEN HELL FUCKIN YES I WOULD WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a few things that's going to keep me happy for the moment.

1) Native released an update for their Waves Gold VST plugins, which will make whatever problems you have faced on the Vista, disappear.  Personally, I do not have the Gold Bundle.  But if the update's meant for the Gold Bundle ONLY, then I will hunt for it very VERY soon.  :)

2) My favourite music buddy-programme, Propellerhead's Reason 4.0 is FINALLY released!  I mean, of course it has been officially released, but it's officially on TORRENTS now!  Can't wait to see with my eyes on what Reason 4 has to provide.  Torrents are currently available for both Mac and Windows.  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

3) Thanks to working with Iz at Two AM's studio, I met Keith, where he recommended me Celemony's Melodyne - a standalone Digital Audio Workstation or an available VST plugin that's mainly meant for vocals - to edit the pitch.  Meaning what?  To make it sound IN TUNE!!!  I guess I can start experimenting with vocals now.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

4) After 9 months of patience, my Top Gear Season 1-8 torrent downloads are still downloading at a snail rate, but at a very happy progress 87%

5) I nearly forgot that I had my Accounting finals coming along this morning.  Still nailed it with ease!  Bwahahahahahahaahha.

6) After working with Audition and researching upon VST plugins, and what plugins really are, I decided to try out Photoshop's available plugin - which made me upgrade from Photoshop 7.0 to CS3.  I downloaded one plugin, and was completely satisifed.  Nik's Color efex's the name.  Really good colour quality, and now I understand how photogrpahers and home graphic design students actually do professional picture editing, I guess?  I've got like, more than 30 plugins with me at the moment, so if you're interested, do let me know.  Should be compatible with photoshop 7.0 and above.  Bwahahahahaha..

7) TwoAM is THE shit.  But what I heard from Moe (which might be both right, and wrong, but more onto the wrong side), is that each song that you record will cost about.. Let's say.. Oh, it's not much for rich peoples, of course - RM3.5k.  Inclusive of mixing and all.  But do not underestimate the Malaysian Sound Engineers there, now.  I checked their plugins and my, do they have a shitload of nonsense there.. Hohohohoho..

8) This semester is coming to and end.  That means, more savings, less spending.

*burp*  Now, let's hope that Reason 4.0 is compatible with Vista.. wheeeeeeee

Are your pockets shrinking?  Are your pockets getting smaller....?????  .. okay, stupid question.. HAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA

Once again, I'm posting this as I am going mobile. I'm with kellyinyee at the moment in some place called Eclipse.

Just not long ago, some NTV7 people stopped us in 1Utama, and would like to do some live show survey thing from the both of us. The one on the mic was some Sinclair person.

So, the question she wanted to ask us was HELLO !!!!! I am Lindsay Lohan !!!!!! Crabby here !!!!!

Unfortunately, my iPod got snatched -_-

So, she wanted to ask us 3 questions. Firstly, what do we think of Plastic Surgery. After that would be, what do you think the Malaysian astronaut should do now that he's back in Malaysia. And thirdly, what do you think about handphones in high school?

Of course, when she asked me the 2nd question, I didn't know what to say..

I mean.. Who's that astronaut that didn't get recognized by NASA or something? Bloody he'll, I don't even know his name..

So, when she asked me what should he do now he's back in Malaysia, i lowered my voice, and I told her..

".. Stay easy from Outer Space. Honestly."

Ad I still wonder, who is that girl XD.. Kellyinyee went nuts when she met her and all. Lol.

After 13 hours of research, endless youtube videos, forums, websites and an UNBELIEVABLY FUCKING SLOW STREAMYX SHIT CONNECTION, I managed to get my iPod Touch jailbroken in its 1.1.2 firmware state.

And as I completed this, the 1.1.3 jailbreak is released, in a very technical way.  But no thanks to Malaysia's moodswings, I can't seem to access anything at some period of time.

More to like, period of hours.

One thing about this jailbreaking process, you need a very stable connection for both your laptop/PC/Mac and iPod.  If neither of this is going to cooperate, then nothing's going to go your way.

But after 11 hours of jailbreaking the iPod, twice, everything's running smoothly now.  With a better-than-yesterday-but-still-shitty connection, I managed to connect the laptop to the iPod without using the USB cable, but using an FTP-based programme.

Been years since I last used that.

Besides that, MS-DOS.

God.

FTP = File Transfer Protocol.  With that, I connected to the iPod's IP address, and I checked out everything that's available in the iPod.  Meaning, I was accessing its HDD at that time, scanning every single *.dat *.bat *.ihateslowconnectionshereinmalaysia files there, and managed to overwrite file properties.

And yes, with an amount of submissions and wrestling this damned iPod with a dead connection, all's well now..

XD.. What freakin joyyyyyyyyyyyyy XD.. I've learnt how to put a custom wallpaper instead of it being sleek black all of the time.. And so on.

And that video was taken before I installed the GBA emulator.. Downloaded Earthworm Jim and it worked fine.  Just that the controls are.. on the screen.  So you can pretty much imagine hitting the L/R buttons.. Lol.. I wonder if I should just spoil the iPod (literally) by inserting a PSX-emulator?  XD

Back to reality:  I need food.. Only if I can afford it of course.. -_-..

I've got like, RM50.32 in my bank account left, and guess what?  I exceeded maybank's 4-withdraw-per-month thing, and it says there "insufficient cash to withdraw" when the ATM only offers RM50 notes..

I've got only.. RM16.70 in my wallet.. And after reading Schizzow's summary of what's going on, having those unfortunate events happening, I really do hope that I'm not next in any ways. t__________________________t

But shit lah.. the cops gave Daniel a damned ticket for "wreckless driving"?  Cops were always retarded, so can't they retardedly write "made a wrong turn" instead of wreckless driving.. What nonsense la.. Fuckin Malaysian cops..

And shit, I didn't know that Angelene got snatched.. T_T

And busses are starting to sound dangerous..Makes me not want to travel back to Penang so often.. Gah..

Best to stay home and not to get choked by dust, and die of asthma or something.. -_- ..

But what surprised me even more was that my dad saying..

Bloody cock.  I wanted to check my results in KDU PJ itself, but it seems to me that the system there is much more strict compared to the system in Penang itself.  They really sent a copy of my results to the address written in the registration form O_O

This is my first time going online at a public place - namely Berjaya Times Square.  Since my place in Bukit Bintang doesn't have any modem, nor do I have a strong signal to leech off other connections in that apartment (nor do I even know how to hack into their accounts..Lol), I had no choice but to come to this place just to come online.

I'm tired like shit at the moment.  Lol

Met up with the Japanese Band, Bonyari Band, and passed them their master copy of whatever they have done.  They seem rather satisfied with it.  After that, I got another call, saying that I've got some important email of sort, so that's why I came all the way here.  From Petaling Street, walked back to my place, then to Times Square.  Buh.

Just my luck.  I don't know the RapidKL routes here, so I don't even bother anyways.  Lol.

On my way to KL earlier on today, I was having this thought:  If I was stuck in a place that I do not know of anybody, who would be kind enough to give me a little bit of money just to get about, or to get home, just in case if I was broke?

I never put that thought into serious consideration because.. Well, not many would be that kind and considerate.  Kind people seems to be growing less in numbers.  In the end, if I ever face some situation, I'd probably die while I'm on the way back by foot.

It just so happens, when I stopped by McDonalds beside Petaling Street to have something to eat, I was munching down my SINGLE Spicy Chicken McDeluxe (DAMN YOU MCDS!!!), this properly-dressed kind old man came up to me and spoke a few words, but I didn't hear.  I had my headphones plugged in.

I took them off, and he kindly said..

"Boy, am I disturbing you?"

He spoke in a rather.. polite tone.

I struck a conversation with him, and found out that he had been sitting in McDs for an hour, and he knew of nobody there.  He was admitted to some hospital (and was holding onto his X-Ray in a brown envelope) for 4 days because of some lung problem.  Nearly died of lung cancer, he said.  He only needed RM 2.80 just to get back to wherever he is from.  Some place called Kajang?

I looked at him, especially the way that he spoke.  He wasn't rude, and he was rather.. sophisticated.

I then thought about what I was thinking earlier on in the bus, and I gave RM3 to him. He asked me to leave my contact number or address so he could pay me back.

I'm not rich or anything, but I just told him to not do so, and keep the change.  He smiled and he thanked me.  I told him to take care of himself, and he said,

"I pray to God to take care of me."

A little bit too religious, and my doubts had already begun.  He quickly walked off towards his direction to (I think) catch his bus to whatever it is to wherever he was going to.  I looked at the table he was sitting at, a finished McDonalds meal.

"He had enough money to have a McDonalds meal, yet no money to go back home?"

Until now, I still can't stop thinking about this incident.  Am I too naive, or did I really help someone who was in need?  And the exact situation I was thinking of?

I'm not making a big fuss about it, but I do hope he takes care of himself or something.

Or maybe I'm just kind hearted today because of last night's performance XD

Blog EntryHow Bad Can It Be?Dec 3, '07 8:37 AM
for everyone
Mood: Tired
Listening To: Nothing

Yes.  How bad can it really be?  Especially when your mum lectures you to help out a bunch of Japanese Bob Marleys (Who're keeping it real because they happened to smoke Ganja, and play Raggae music) in terms of recording, getting a CD out and all that.

But even way before I could start off, I had a problem.

I was about..500 ++ km away from my lovely HP laptop adaptor when I arrived in Port Dickson.. Hehahohohohohohohoho.

So I worked on the Compaq instead - which is still for sale.

That would explain why journals like these didn't exist a few days back.  Haha ..

Oh.  I kid you not; If Wormy ever stops being Mr. T for this season and manages to get his hair back, and receives approval for him to grow really long hair to have his dreadlocks done, more wimmin would fall for him.

Because I met a Japanese Bob Marley fella who had dreadlocks and had the exact same face structure as our dear Asian Mr. T ..

-XD

Yes, I'm dead serious that he would look good.

Goodbye, Tubak-dahlink.
