Listening To: Daft Punk - Aerodynamite

Usually, when it comes to stuff I've never listen to, I'd usually say:

"I'm not a fan of ______________"

Which is the wrong term, after being in touch with music for quite a while.  Now that I've had a slight taste of how the music industry is like, it's more to like: "I've never heard of _____"

That's a proper term.  And I find myself wanting to look for more materials, musicians, genres, and melodies to experiement with these days.  Besides that, there's the study of polyrhythms that I've never had the chance to go through.  In fact, I'm getting a taste of polyrhythms through this song by Daft Punk.

And yes, Daft Punk.  I've never really listened to them before, but it's through these experimental artists that you learn how to mess around with new effects to make a song sound different compared to the rest which are being produced.

Other than that, I don't know.

Where exactly am I heading with this music path?

Guess I should just kick back and focus on the guitar and toss whatever's irrelevant aside.

But a mix of everything is just so..tempting.. Hohoho.

Anyways, Harry Gregson-Williams stuff on the Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty OST is extremely good in terms of production.  I seriously dig his stuff.  And some of the songs, for a tactical game, have very very heavy Jazz influence.  In fact, the opening theme - Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday (I think) is a Jazz number.  Fortune's theme song is a mix of electronical experimental orchestra with Jazz, and that's just so.. bloody nice.

Pure ear orgasmismnessed.

I don't know how to explain this, but on that OST, when the bass of a certain instrument comes in, it just hovers around the speakers .. Like an audible mist that surrounds you?  I want that effect, but I have no idea how to achieve that sort of thing with a crap Vista OS.

I shall retreat to Keith @ The Ark Studios for reference.. XD

And this feeling; being one with those sort of music .. is just simply amazing.  It's like, I've been emotionally directly linked to these sort of music?  When I listen to something that's produced, mixed and composed properly through these headphones, it brings a smile to my face somehow.

I think I've accidentally made it into my religion.

.. Time to upgrade to better headphones, that's for sure.. XD

I should head to the library now and study Management Accounting.  I just realised that I know nothing of the subject.  It's not even bloody accounts, that's for sure =___=

It's interesting to go through certain stages of life.  Currently, I think I'm at a point where I'm enjoying life in a very sadistic way?

My partners at Starbucks can't seem to understand my enthusiasm towards work, and whatever I do.

Sometimes I wonder how is it possible, myself?

There's The Secret, but then again, it's all about the mind.

Currently, I'm working during closing hours in Starbucks, and it's no joke to try and juggle my schedule.  I don't even see the faces of my housemates/ex-gf anymore when I go home.  Since my laptop's at the HP Service Centre because I either blew the RAM or motherboard's BIOS, I only relax at home with my iPod and what's left of it.

And imagine, having speakers with a subwoofer, but an 320 x 480 resolution based screen just to watch Top Gear.

Very simple, and homely.  I'll post a picture to that when I get the laptop back.  Should be getting a call either today or tomorrow.

Although the loss of my laptop for a total of 5 days sounds kind of .. sad, but I'm extremely contented with what I have at the moment.  The people that surrounds me, the people I'm working with, and .. stuff, I guess?

Currently, I'm checking out my latest project that I've been asked to session, once again.  It's Iz's song - Bersama/Together.  Since the beat's being laid out, my job is to only stuff in the usual guitar nonsense.  And what I have as a draft, sounds a little bit different.

Although the beginning does sound like John Petrucci's solo in Another Day, it somewhat surprises and disappoints me.

But since the ending sounds good enough to overcome that minor problem, I don't mind at all.

And you heard?  DJ Tiesto's coming down to Port Dickson.  I never said that I wasn't a fan of Trance/House/clubbing nonsense before, meaning to say that I have nothing against them.  Therefore, since the event's in Port Dickson @ Admiral Marina Club, guess who got free tickets?  XD ..

As many tickets as I want, and either on single or both nights.  HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO.  XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

But, if I really think about what I'm doing, I don't feel sad.  I feel rather contented.  I don't know why I feel this way, but .. it's not like me to feel this way.  But this whole feeling and perception of life is simply..amazing?  I'm getting paid for work, I'm catching up with studies naturally even when I don't pay attention, and the exposure to this side of the music industry is a great start.

Especially when you're finally getting paid for music, it's an achievement - but it won't last for long, I know.

Plans for Starbucks:
- Work long term even as a part timer till I move to Melbourne.  Try to apply for Coffee Master status (unsure about District Coffee Master title) .. Get to Melbourne, settle down there for a few months till I'm legal to work as a part timer there.  I heard in Melbourne/Starbucks Coffee International (not Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Sdn Bhd, duh), you can apply as a part-time supervisor from my other senior partners in Australia if you worked in Malaysia or something?  Or maybe it's a Starbucks International rule thing that never seem to existed because of Dato Vincent Goh ...

Well, being single is fun - if you don't think about needing the significant other.  I'm not saying that I'm stubborn.  I love to share benefits or whatever it is among friends, it's just that.. I have to admit that I do not have the time to care and love for someone .. special?

Besides, I'm out of strength to go on in any relationships.  I'm worn out.  Lol.

Oh.  Good news.  I managed to get back on the guitars again.  :)

PS.  For those who are working in the F&B line .. Grease traps are probably .. I don't know.  A blessing in disguise to piss off your manager if he's close by.. XD

Mood: Pissed off, Tired
Listening To: FFVIII OST - Eyes on Me

Fuckin' wombles.  For those who took an LRT today, I think you would notice the rather.. slow service that Putra provided.  Guess what?  It all started at 5.15pm, and I happened to get fuckin involved.

If your fuckin LRTs had problems, get it fixed before you run them, you damned Malay wombles.

Today, I went to BB Plaza to find out that the JPJ there moved/closed.  Whichever it is, so I went off to the JPJ in Wangsa Maju to find out that they would end up vandalising my licence, and.. Well, hopped back on the LRT... Where it all began.  The journey on foot that made me walk of a total of estimated 8km.  From Jelatik, to Pasar Seni, main roads and all.  Nyum nyum ..

No taxis means of public transport were used, from Jelatik till Pasar Seni.

---
5.15pm:  I could really use some help this time.  Currently, I'm at the Jelatik Putra LRT station.  something went wrong with their damned LRTs and it won't go any further, but backwards to Gombak.  I referred to my mini RapidKL guide, and things aren't going well for me.

No busses that I would know of would go to my area, nor would I spend another buck in taking a T-bus when I had a U-ticket bus for the day.

... And nope, it’s not going well at all.  I’m probably 2 or 3km away from KLCC.  It’s more to like, my transit, just to get back home.  What’s better is that I’m going there with an empty stomach.  Guess I’ll hitch a ride straight from Pasar Seni.  Screw LRTs.

I just changed my mind as I’m typing this through my iPod.  I’m changing my destination.  From KLCC, to Bukit Bintang – Sungai Wang area for dinner.  Then get a damned bus that goes directly from Pasar Seni back to my place.

Without a compass, I’m guessing I need to head South West from where I am, to get to.. Wherever I need to bloody go.  Way to go, you PutraLRT wombles.

Guess I made it to Dato Keramat now.  Time to refer to my map before I head to the wrong place.

That river behind Dato Keramat LRT station.

Used this as a landmark to see which direction I was heading..

Kinda forgot what road was this.  Jalan Damai, was it?  I remember it had lotsa embassies on it.

The City Elevated highway, is it?  Used this as another landmark to get to Jalan Sejahtera..

This shows I was heading towards the right direction too.. lol.. right before I saw that Nepalese fella.

Yeah.  If it rained, I would be so fucked.  I had no umbrella, nor were there any 711s close by -_-

5.44pm:  I just passed by Damai.  Guessing this will be my first LRT stop.  Usually, on an LRT, it would take at least 2 minutes to reach to the next stop.  A total of 4 minutes if the LRT was still working.  This took me .. 29 minutes.  Wow.  This is starting to remind me of Amazing Race: Asia, now.  I’m trying to find this place called Jalan Sejahtera, which connects to Jalan Tun Razak; wherever that is.  Getting to that road, and heading down South, should lead me to Jalan Bukit Bintang.  From there, I should know my way around.  Oh my.  What sites in these residential areas.  I just saw a Nepalese digging his nose.

6.09pm:  Holy crap.  I just saw this place on Jalan Tun Razak.  Some place that offers limos for rent.  More than 10 new Mercs, and 2 Porsche Cayenne Turbo.  Can I play Grand Theft Auto, now?  XD

Another landmark.. Then I saw...

THIS .. XDXDXDXDXD

6.27pm:  Finally!  I see buildings I know of!  Auto Bavaria, Pavillion, and I see Bukit Bintang not too far away.  Goddamn it.  I need FOOD!

7.04pm:  Finally dining at McDonalds.  Gahahahahaha.  FOOD!!  What a distance.  And it’s been a while since I last came to this place.. Chinatown yawwwww...

7.19pm:  Back on the roads again after a relaxed meal.  I should be 10 minutes away from the bus stop.  What a damned trip.  Stupid Putra wombles.

7.48pm:   Fuckin wombles.  I hope both RapidKL and Putra burn in hell.  One damned bus that heads to my area refused to open the bus doors.  Pukimak.

8.21pm:  Gave up on all sort of busses, so I got on the LRT again.  Somehow, the LRTs are functioning really.. Slow.

10.11pm:  .... Home sweet.... home..........................

Besides all that, I managed to score a 29.4/30 for my accounts midterms.. XD wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Besides that, I've got my Intro to Accounts midterms coming up in about one and a half hours.  I didn't revise through anything because I ran out of exercises to do.  I hope they don't come out with all those concepts and principles, or I'm doomed.  The what..?  Cost Price Principle..whatever nonsense it is.

3 questions today.. I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing.. XD

Today, we're going to get tested on the serious basics of the accounts.  So it shouldn't be that hard, I suppose.

Just gotta remember that when any Sales occur, that account supposed to be credited, not debited.. lol

Then it's the holidays for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What a relaxing semester.  *ignores Diploma graduation fact*

I suppose with this journal entry, you would know when I'm blogging from the laptop; or a certain mobile device outside of home. Bwahahahaha.

There's no ctrl ot alt button on this touchpad keyboard, so I can't blog about my usual mood or the song I'm listening to at the moment. Anyways, for this semester, I'm taking up 2 subjects, and besides ocersleroing on the day of my semester briefing, I've never missed class up to date.

But with t bloody ass boring, half-queer computer nerd as your lecturer, I can pretty much say that I've slept in his class just now. Nyehehehehehehe

I just finished breakfast, and I'm going to revise through what I've missed just now.. Besides that, BECAUSE of daily breakfasts, my monthly expensee will increase.. No more books or wasting money on nonsensical items I suppose :|

Ah. Dream Theater is extremely the dope sial.. Hohoho. Would reconnbd you all to watch these guys on youtube..search for the video titled: "One Last Time".. Good stuff..<3333

Or watch them live in Singapore this month. 17th I think?

And I can't believe I will have to spend 2 hours in college everyday because of this stupid 2 hour break in between classes -.-

These guys can't just stop surprising me when it comes to music.

But what surprised me even more was that my dad saying..

"By the way, your results came by mail about a month ago in KL.."

Bloody cock.  I wanted to check my results in KDU PJ itself, but it seems to me that the system there is much more strict compared to the system in Penang itself.  They really sent a copy of my results to the address written in the registration form O_O

Thank goodness I managed to pass (HAHAHAHAAHAHAHHA KISS MY ASS GOODBYE MACROECONOMICS!!!) all three subjects for last semester..

.. But that doesn't ease my thoughts.  Once if I fail my subject, like Company Law taken two semesters ago, this college will directly inform my dad..

Gah.

Oh well.  Back to KL.. Jesus..the amount of dust compiled here..what the hell has been going on..

Am I tired.. today's the first time I've spent so long in the driver's seat.. groan .. How's everybody back in penang?  Wheeeeee...

When you're gone; pieces of my heart are missing you.
When you're gone; the face I came to know, is missing too.
And when you're gone; the words I always needed to hear, will always get me through, the day..

Looks like this 6th month anniversary this Saturday isn't going to be a sweet one, but a memorable one.  Haha.

Ok back to business maths assignment.

Listening To: Ocean of Fire - Walking In The Rain

I spent a few hours extra instead of sleeping last night with catching up with Kelvyn through MSN, and well, we exchanged information while I was playing S.C.A.R. .. He told me lots of things, like informing me of this little gadget for the guitar by Roland, called the GK2.  It's some sort of a midi controller.  Use it on your guitar like how you would hook up a Roland guitar synthesizer and you're able to plug your guitar to a keyboard and start using the effects from the keyboard through the guitars instead of playing the keyboard itself.

It's complicated and I'm not even sure I've got that right.  I was too shy to ask Kelvyn anyways.

Then he started telling me lots of things about Jazz.  It gets pretty much interesting, until he gave me a pop quiz.  To search up on this:

C Delta Augmented 11# 13

???????????????????????????  That's a chord, of course.. But ..what the hell is that?????????????????????????

Also, he nearly shared something else with me.  Something more confusing, called the Pitch Axis Theory.  Of course, I have no idea what the world is that.  Unfortunately, through some sources (and I'm unsure), Joe Satriani came up with this theory.

Pitch Axis.. That sounds kind of cool, but the theorical side of it is extremely confusing.

"Pitch axis theory suggests that for each mode, there is a chord that accompanies it. When that chord occurs, the corresponding mode should be used for the melody or for soloing."

Buh?  I'll have to experiment this myself when I have the time..And after I get used to the modes for all this..

But before I do anything else, I should really concentrate on my Macroeconomics because I kind of dozed off in class..

... While jotting down some notes -_-

And a cute little lionhead rabbit bit me until my finger bled -_-

At least the computers here are fast compared to the single-internet lab back in Penang.  Things here are less screwed up in terms of management, but the connection here equalises the standards of both college.  What a happy family.

Anyways, I just finished one of my classes just now.  A 1 hour class, to be exact.  I've got another one coming up in an hour's time, so I decided to spend some time here in the internet lab.

At least I didn't oversleep today.  I didn't pay a taxi RM6.90 unlike yesterday -_- ..

And coming here, is like..Living in another dimension ..I saw two of my classmates that resembled two of my friends, namely Rooshie Tan and DebraDieded.. O_O

I think homesickness is getting to me?  Lol.

Hmmm.. Nothing much to blog about.. Not having a personal printer at home kinda sucks.. And those dudes back in PG who sold me the laptop..I'll kill y'all bigtime once I get back.. I could've sworn that I told you that I'm a student yet you didn't provide or advice me to install Microsoft Office 2007 seperately -_-...

Thank goodness I can make as many stops I want through RapidKL .. I'll stop by The Curve a little bit later on ..

And I checked out Riff Interactive last night.  It's some pretty good stuff.  I thought it was just some cheap Ah Beng promotion when they said it's something about Steve Vai and Joe Satriani lessons.. But it isn't.  The shit is, they do teach you the sort of thing what Vai and Satriani would play.  And..It's not easy, I have to admit.  The techniques being used are simple, but tough to get them clean, and neat.

This is guitar talk:  One of the techniques would be that you hit a note on a cetain string, then you lower your Floyd Rose whammy bar (works well, but flat-tails would be harder?) until your strings starts to rattle, tap/touch/hit (still unsure which one it is... Which makes things even tougher) the string you want it to ring, then slowly raise the whammy bar.  It works easily on the normal harmonic spots; 5th, 7th and the 12th fret.  But try it on the 14th fret and you'll end up breaking your guitar into 2 if you don't have the patience.. But the sound is horribly wicked!

The other would be the usual Steve Vai slide.  Very huge intervals over here, and although it's just sliding, you might either over-slide by a note, or under-slide by a note ..

That's when practising comes in handy..

Wooo..hard rock blues XD.. Finally learning some secrets of scales and modes.. Vai's style is truly unique.  This person (I forgot his name..the one who teaches you through this programme) said that Vai will use every scale known to man when he gets the chance to.. Which makes things a little bit harder to study and identify..

I just found gold.. Huahuahuahuahua..

I'm hungry..and I'm on budget... Have to tahans................ x(

Mood: Really Tired
Listening To: MSN beeps

Yeah.  I nearly titled this journal as The First Day of College, but I just remembered that I skipped the first day of college.  So today, is my first day of college XD

.. Which was shit.

Everything was nothing but about 10 minutes briefings and class ended not according to the schedule.  At least I managed to get my student card done.

And I think that the student card here in the PJ campus is probably the coolest thing ever.  In fact, I think I'm still fascinated by its technology.  This student card is your parking entry, entry to the internet lab (which I personally think that they have too many computers in it), entry to the library and it is your library card.. And you pay for food in the canteen with it (only if you insert prepaid credits into the card..)

Oooo.. I feel like I'm in the States now XD .. Not bad for a Malaysian college..lol

And on the first day of orientation, I don't know, but there was this lady, she told us to not use this student card in places like Giants or Tesco to purchase grocery goods although you have money in it.. Lol.. It actually happened XD

And I can't believe it.  First day of college and I'm already feeling the pressure.  I just checked out the tutorials, lecture notes and course outlines for my Management of Human Resources (For those who aren't in the business course, I suppose you can be confused with whatever the subject teaches - just like me.), and well, I think the lecturer wants us to prepare for the whole semester O_O..

Gah.  There's more than 6 files available for downloads @_@

... AND MY ASSIGNMENT QUESTION IS ALREADY AVAILBLE FOR DOWNLOADS?!?!?!?!? O______________________O

Then there's the nightmare - MACROeconomics.  Nooooooooooooooooooooes...

Besides that, I think I live in the States.  For the first time, I see more black people than Asians at the registration counter/entrance of KDU.. O_O

Oh well.  I guess now it's time to plan which books to photo-copy.  Or be smart and download the e-book straight :)

Hmmm...

The first day of college is no different than those other days of college where I accidentally oversleep and skip the morning classes.

Yep, I overslept when I'm not supposed to.  No thanks to Major Payne.  Watched it till 3am last night, my laptop hung on me, and I couldn't forward to the place where it last stopped.  Sigh.

I woke up at 7.39am, actually.  But knowing it was too early, I decided to sleep back and well, I paid the price.  My handphone too, since I used it as an alarm.  When it was 7.39am, it was on my lockable drawer.

And when it was 9.59am, it was on the floor -_-

Oh.  And what KDU PJ have that KDU PG doesn't have would be that each week, our subjects would have lectures and tutorials.  Attend the lecture first, then only you attend the lab/tutorial classes.  Unfortunately, I've accidentally skipped my lecture class today, and I do not know which tutorial class to go for tomorrow.  I think the Penang campus for the business course is kind of fucked up.

And I need to head to college just for my fee payment schedule.. Wow.  I think I'll do that out of boredom today after I head to LCCT.

They're only better when you're not slapped with shit work.  Not exactly shit work.  The work's nice, but the problem is.. The boss.

It's her once again, if you all would know who I'm talking about.  Nothing but.. The pre-World War II traditional Chinese women's attitude.  I suppose I'll be working at the PWMF, and I never even made my own decision.

Sigh.

Talk about trying to enjoy what I've been through.  For the past few days, I've been doing nothing but studying.  No outings, no driving, no guitar-ing, no music-ing, but just.. studies.  And thanks to all of that effort, I did better than I expected .. At least I didn't leave anything blank in any papers (except for Company Law..)

Company Law was dope.  Me and my 2 other classmates went to my classmate's house, and wanted to study Company Law.  Since it came right after our Microeconomics exam, we only had 3 hours to prepare.  But by the time we travelled and had lunch, we had only 2 hours to go.  Half an hour later, I gave up and decided to take some rest because I only had 3 hours of sleep the day before.. Due to Microeconomics..

When I woke up 20 minutes before the examination, I saw everybody was dead asleep.  LOL.  There goes our Company Law Finals.. Nobody studied in the end.  lol

I've been staying up till 5am these mornings due to examinations.. I can't believe myself that I was actually studying.  Good cause, I suppose?  I hope the same would go on when I'm in KL.

But then again, I hope not.  Because this morning, I slept at 5am, I nearly missed my Business Statistics papers.  I woke up at 9.20am when the paper started at 9am.. Bloody Hell ..

Buh.

And my rabbit's not doing any better.. sigh.

But on the brighter side, my dad's getting me a laptop soon enough.  Sending my brother to source out a laptop was definitely a bad idea, but then again, I'm lazy to do my own research.  He came up with the HP dv2300t .. Somewhat related to the dv2500t that I could find a review on.. It's not bad.. But the only downfall would be that it comes with Windows Vista.

Again, comes the headache of programme compabilities.. Sigh..

http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3721&review=HP+Pavilion+dv2500t

Besides that, I just started reading about VST plugins that can be used on DAWs.  Credits to Ddie and Wormy when it comes to this.. I just bought Cubase, and I've got no idea what the hell it is.  I'll test it out only when the laptop comes in.  I bought the Cubase programme was because it came with its plugins.. and Xpansion BFD XD

BFDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!  <3

And I heard that Reason 3.0 has some minor problems with Windows Vista.. Coming from Aaron Wimmin Lim.

But Audition 1.5 works fine.. Should I update it to 2.0?  Looks somewhat like Protools..

buh..

Listening to Point Blanc's Straight To The Point made me realise that a DAW's not good enough for standalone mixing.  It needs to be supported by plugins..

Buh..................

How to find Waves Platinum..Prangin Mall tadak... tomorrow's a trip to midlands then..

.. Fuckin' Penang World Music Festival.. It just ruined my whole weekend plan to rest -_-.  At least Ah Hui and I will be working under the same boss..and will be bitching about the same boss.. Now he feels my pain after supporting.. The Boss.  Eng kai.. hahahaha..

sigh..

My streak of finishing my mid terms, quizzes and finals paper the fastest just scares me.  Since the first semester, I remember that I was one of the first to walk out from the exam hall when it came to several papers.  I can't really remember, but I remembered that I led a pack of students out of the exam hall when they saw me walking out during our IT finals..

Then again, today's a little bit different.  We had Financial Accountings that lasts for 3 hours.  I woke up at 8.40am and my paper starts at 9am.  I got to college probably about..9.10am?  Got to the exam hall at 9.15am, making me the latest among everybody.

So calmly, I sat down and went through my papers, did the multiple-choice questions when I noticed some people started off doing the subjective sides without touching the multiple-choice questions..

And as I finished the first section, which was suprisingly easy, I got to the subjective sides.. Those bloody balance, profit & loss sheets and all that junk.. Had to calculate ratios.. But hey.  Unlike other exams.. These questions already appeared as our "revision" questions a few months ago.

If it weren't for my classmates that decided to pull off a major last-minute studying session, I would've died for this section and the following session.

Sadly, I didn't do as well as them, because they used that question as an example and re-did everything.  I just studied it without knowing that the exact same thing would come out on the finals -_-

Whatever it is, I finished off that section, went on to the final section.. Those sections that you pick 2 out of 3 questions and complete them.  And so I did.  And when I finished it, it was already 10.30am.  Everybody else were still having their heads down - struggling to finish the paper.  Even the ones who are weak in Accounts too.

The thing about being the first to walk out of the exam hall is that, well, if nobody follows you, there must be something wrong with the written answer sheet (which definitely brings down your confidence level in passing), or they're just too slow.

Anyways, I admit that my answers are not 100% correct.  Not an accounts student, anyways.  Then again, the point is, one paper down, and I've got 4 more to go.  And thanks to my classmates last night, I did better than I expected (like not leaving any questions blank and risking 80 out of 100 marks..).  So, if you all are reading this (which you all aren't going to), thank you.  Lol.  I owe y'all 80% of my account marks, but I'm not sharing them with you at all.. lmfao

Now, I'll get some sleep.  I've got some stupid short story to read up for tomorrow's English's Critical Review in the exams.. Sigh..

Summaries..Synopsises..Reviews..Critical Reviews...they're all bloody summaries!

And no Debra, just because I am online at 10.30am, telling you that my paper was at 9am, didn't mean that I overslept and skipped my accounts finals... wahahahaha.. you jumped into conclusions too soon..lol

Anyways, my final examinations are up next week, and this time, KDU tweeked my schedule to kill off lazy bums like me..and probably, the entire semester.  Having 2 of the most difficult subjects on the same day isn't anybody's cup of tea.

Microeconomics and Company Law.

-_-

Besides all that, all of us in the family had a major arguement, which means that things aren't going on so smoothly in a lot of aspects.  Would love to post a rant blog about it, but my time is over.  I've finally gotten lazy to try breaking any keyboards off laptops or computers by publishing my anger through words.

And besides the above, Joshua is going to record one of Panic Overdrive's songs.  Probably the easiest; A heavy-metal/rock ballad semi-inspired by Metallica and a little bit of Evanesence (SP?).  Which means that I have to record a draft sample for him to practice on.

If I could just plug my brains into a USB port on this computer and let it read through my brain waves without manually programming everything with mouse clicks, things would be faster.  Then again, I seriously think I'm missing of a MIDI keyboard.

But of course, hard work comes with satisfying knowledge.  I've never had as much fun programming drums, and trying to human-ise it as close to what a real drummer would play.  Watching the expression of certain drummers at certain concerts (eg. Metallica with the San Fransisco Orchestra, Guns n' Roses, Mike Mangini.. And I haven't even started on Dream Theater @ Live In Bodukan yet..) makes me understand a little bit about how the human drummer would work..

.. Which is somewhat worse than human psychology, but just as interesting as how the human heart works.

Some people may consider facial expression during musical performances an idiotic, childish and a foolish thing to show, but it captures the amount of pressure being used to hit the instrument..

Also - capturing that the musician is one with music..

Of course, things would be easier if I had a MIDI keyboard by my side, but working with the mouse isn't that bad.. Thinking of what the left and right hand are associated with, left and right leg, double/triple strokes for drumming and using the right pressure to make it sound as human as possible.. etc

I feel like I'm recreating Frankenstein..

When I'm having fun, the thought of Microeconomics just ruins my mood... And other events..

Can't I just shit a bunch of distinctions like other smartasses out there so I've got nothing to worry about?

And anybody fancy listening to the end product after I record the vocals?  LOL

If I could grant you just one wish, I know..
I know that you would be.. Happier than me..

Happier than me.....

In that dream, I was walking out your door.  Now,
I know you deserve so much more than this.
I can be, in your arms tonight.
Tonight, can be, better than this todaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa--

Come to think of it, I have been neglecting Top Gear lately.. Hmmm..Maybe saving the best for last?  XD

Anyways, procrastination's a bitch.  Both of my assignments (if I'm not mistaken) are due this Wednesday, and it's nothing but calculations, research on another state's economy, and more calculations..

Gah.

I had some rest today just to clear up the stress that has been destroying my sleep.  Thank goodness.. And I finally have the mood to start doing my assignments..

.. Well, that's what I thought.

I ended up visiting my hotmail inbox, gmail inbox, this page, friendster and ctrlaltdel-online.com .. Bloody hell..

Thank goodness my MSN isn't on just yet..or I'll have collegemates asking me about the assignment.. Gah..

Next performance is up at INTI's charity gig this Saturday.. June 30th.. And if I'm not mistaken, it should be at night..

And after every performance.. I don't know..but I keep on feeling tired.. I need to re-check my sound configuration.. I admit that I drowned Ying Kit last Saturday when it came to his soloes.. My apologies.. Gah..

I never could control the perfect sound settings.................

It's the deadline..having questions that you know that you're not capable of doing, and being aware that the deadline's on Wednesday..........................

POOOOOOOOOOOOOOKEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Anyways, I made a trip to this place called Toby Pets at Air Itam area again today..Not bad.. Sells quite a number of exotic species of certain pets.. I missed out on the coral snake, but I saw it a few days ago.. So damn bloody cute.  I'll probably own one when I'm down in Kuala Lumpur, anyways.. Lol

Check 'em out.  Might consider getting 2 rabbits.. Or scrap the rabbits and settle down with the flying squirrel (which I don't feel like getting because I've never seen them doing anything better than slacking around..), or scrap both the flying squirrel and the rabbits, and settle down with a cute looking cat.. That costs RM500 @_@..

Snippets:

A cute looking cat that costs RM500 .. I forgot the species name, but seriously, it's bloody cute through its actions.. Lol

Listening To: 3 Doors Down - Here Without You

Today, I was featured on Smack!.FM, being interviewed regarding Panic Overdrive.  What the band is, it's all about, and all that usual stuff.

.. I'm serious.  LOL

But then again, it was a Mass Communication assignment where this semester, some of their students took up the subject - Radio.  So, they did more onto the analogue style of live radio broadcasting, and Roy was the one who seeked me for a last minute help and a last minute helping hand..

Now, I have free access to use the recording studio in KDU XD.. Muahahahahaha.. XD XD XD XD XD

I felt like home when I stepped into the recording studio.. The sheer calmness.. The padded walls.. The.. the... consoles!!!!  AND PRO TOOLS DAMMIT XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Rather refreshing..But I still miss Hits Studios.. Lol

Anyways, the interview was crazy.  The producer of the show, one of Roy's classmates, distracted the both of us which nearly made me go "huh?" on the mic when it was on.  Lol.. It was crazy.. And well, since I spoke of the band having an anti-dadah sort of image because we don't do drugs and all that shit before performing.. He considered us as a boy-scout based band.. The goody-two shoes.. I mistook him as I thought he was "insulting" the genre of music we were playing as a band, and I went..

... "Excuse me.  BOY-scout?  You wanna know boy-scout?  Ever heard of NSYNC?"

Kantoi instantly.  LOL.  I don't know if dissing another group on a radio-based assignment will get Roy's marks deducted for his interview.  LOL

Ahhhh... Back to assignments.. :(

Some shots:

One of the shows.. Where the Roy was DJ.. He did a good job, but still screwed up a little.. Lol

Producer vs. DJ

And I spotted this!  Lol.. Some magazine with a writeup regarding Ocean of Fire performing for some BOSS-based gig in Kuala Lumpur.. Good job, guys XD

The Interviewer..The interviewee..and the news lady who distracted me and Roy earlier on -_-

O_____________________O

I want :(

Getting prepared and nervous.. Lol

He tried to be calm.. LOL

Last minute mess-ups that screwed up his show.. Lol..

Was rather crazy, but I had fun.. Although it wasn't as hyped as an actual radio interview, but who cares, yeah?  Lol.. All the best to you all, Smack!.FM.  Lol

And I was wondering.. Have any of you missed anybody you cherished (regardless loved ones or family members) until it hurts you?

Listening To: Nothing

I feel extremely tired and blur at the moment.. And it's only going to be 4pm..

Nothing much happened, but I managed to pull off the Microeconomics presentation today with ease.. Nothing but sheer general knowledge put to use.. Rated as one of the good presentation in the class, but certainly not the best.

Whatever.. For a guy who knew nuts about that chapter.. Something about competition law.. I think I did pretty okay?

I would've done better if I went through the notes that my juniors gave me for this microeconomics assignment.. But saving valuable information for the hard copy assignment itself.. What a trade.. I trade the answers for 4 questions for our business stats assignment for a headstart on microeconomics x).. Hohoho.. terima kasihs x)

And I found out regarding my microeconomics mid terms results.. Got a pass, but no idea what marks I got.. Lecturer received a couple of complaints from the school, so it's a standard for the students to know if they pass or failed; not the marks they achieved..

Which is kind of stupid, if you ask me.. I've got no idea how well I did.  Was it a pass, or just passed sort of marks?  The lecturer said my marks were considered average.. like usual, so whatever.

As for Business Statistics.. I finished my tutorial questions for tomorrow during class just now.. Had nothing else to do.. And to think back..this was one of the weakest topics I studied during my form 5 add maths days.. Something about probabilities based on bell-shaped curves and all..

I've got a one hour class tomorrow :(... My free Thursdays aren't free anymore :(

And talk about emo nights.. Last night, my juniors told me that our class isn't gonna be the same without me.. No more jokes, no more fun, no more irritation, no more seeking advice for the subjects, etc.. They said they're going to miss me..

...... That makes me want to go to KL even more XD

Oh well.  That's that.

Welcome back, Chan Zhu May :D
