I managed to pay a visit the iPod Reseller store that I got my iPod from, in Low Yat today to get some things right.

Besides that, I also met someone I'd never expect to meet in KL.  MagicY2L..

Hello XD.. And good luck for your engineering quizamawig.. XD

This journal would be more to like, the precaution for those who expects to live with an original (meaning - never Jailbroken) iPod Touch.  Tough luck, boys.  It's never going to happen.

As stated in a few journals back, the 1.1.3 update requires you to pay USD $19.99 to get the additional applications which were never in the iPod Touch.  The applications that you're able to use in the iPhone and so on.  Problem is, even if you're willing to pay USD $19.99 to get the applcations up and running, you won't be able to do so.  Why?  It's fairly simple.  Like South Park blaming Canada in the movie for teaching the children how to swear, you should blame Malaysia instead.

Because Malaysia does not have an iTunes Store branch here, you are not able to perform that purchase to receive your application goodies.  This is why I boycotted against the iPhones, and with that being said, I'm hating iPod Touch at the moment.

Because of someone else's mistake from a company, we have to pay an additional fee to enjoy additional products.  Like as if we're not paying enough for the bloody device.

So here we go, I have my 1.1.3 firmware installed, and I have to say that I like it better than the 1.1.2 version.  This is because the iPod runs a bit faster in every applications.

But I'm downgrading my iPod as we speak.  So, for those who are interested to achieve their jailbroken iPod Touch states, here's what you can do:

1) Switch off your iPod Touch
2) Connect it to your PC/Mac/laptop through the USB cable, and hold both the power and home button for 10 seconds.
3) Right after 10 seconds, your screen should not show the Apple logo; release the power/sleep button, but still continue to hold your home button for another 10 seconds.
4) Release your home button, then open iTunes.  It should be able to detect your iPod in Recovery mode.  From there, you can restore your iPod Touch with the previous *.ipsw files (if you've downloaded from the official Apple site, not through iTunes.) by holding down "Shift" and clicking on "Restore".
5) Wait for probably 1,000 years for the iPod Touch to be restored to that specific version.

Now, to jailbreak it and allowing other applications to be available on your iPod, that's fairly simple.  I won't provide the tutorial here as it's around youtube.com.  Just search for the user called "ipodtouchmaster", and you'll see how to do things there.

By referring to his videos, you will realise that he uses the technical way to downgrade the iPod Touch from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 through iPhuc.

All required links for downgrading are included in his descriptions through his tutorials, so refer to him instead.

Here's a hint though; if you're planning to update your firmware version from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2, remember to force-update it if possible with the *.ipsw file in your computer.  To force update, hold down the "Shift" key, and click on "Update" in your iTunes.

If only I knew that this bloody iPod requires the iTunes Store somehow, I wouldn't have even fuckin' bought it.  Until the 1.1.3 SDK is jailbroken, I'll stick to the 1.1.2.. and probably have GBA emulators in it this time.. XD

Ah.  Downgrade completed.  Time to jailbreak this motherfucker.. Google Maps, here I come.. XD
